Exploring ways to support patients with the neurodegenerative disease Multiple Sclerosis.
Imagine being diagnosed with a volatile disease that gets worse the longer it goes untreated. Now imagine a doctor telling you that the available drug therapy is only effective 40% of the time, and they won’t know if it’s actually working because symptoms are so unpredictable.
This is the reality for patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). We can do better.
For the November UX Boot Camp, we are partnering with Emessence, a healthcare startup that strives to help patients with MS to take back control. In four intense days, you’ll craft mobile design solutions that help MS patients manage their medical treatments and lifestyle in order to slow the disease progression and improve their quality of life.
Ready for the challenge? Come join us this November 18-21 for the UX Boot Camp: Emessence in San Francisco.
Designers, developers and product managers from around the world will converge in the Cooper offices for four days to immerse themselves in Cooper’s Goal-Directed Design methods and take their UX design skills to the next level.
Emessence is a nimble team of three building tools that help doctors understand the patient’s disease course, assess the effectiveness of different therapies, and determine the optimal treatment regimen
In this UX Boot Camp, participants will be exploring new ways to support patients as they manage Multiple Sclerosis. Specifically, participants will team up to design distinct mobile solutions that help patients track their symptoms and medication, manage their lifestyle, and connect with others who have been affected by MS.

What is the UX Boot Camp?
The UX Boot Camp is an opportunity for designers, developers, and project managers who are familiar with the basics of Goal-Directed design (such as personas and scenarios) but want an opportunity to challenge and refine their skills by working on a focused project together. Over the course of four days, you’ll take a deep dive into Goal-Directed design and apply what you learn to a real-world problem.
