Brian is an education consultant and professor of design at The Ohio State University. His award-winning work and teachings are centered in the areas of IxD, UX, information visualization, design thinking, and motion design. With a Bachelor’s degree in design from The University of the Arts and a Master’s from The Ohio State University, he energetically leads teams to thoughtful, innovative, user centered solutions.

Brian has held visiting appointments at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Escola Superior de Desenho Industrial (ESDI) in Brazil, and Universidad Americana Managua, Nicaragua (UAM). Apple recognized Brian’s teaching with the Apple Distinguished Educator award. He is also a recipient of The Ohio State University’s Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching, the Order of Omega Faculty Recognition Award, and the Ratner Distinguished Teaching Award.

Brian is a co-organizer of the Motion Design Summit conferences [MODE] and recently published a collection of essays on Motion Design entitled The Theory and Practice of Motion Design: Critical Perspectives and Professional Practice (Routledge 2018).
