Any organization that designs customer-facing products, services, or processes has its own set of core values. What are yours? Where does design rank on that list? Transforming your organization into one which values and empowers design and designers is no small task. First you need to diagnose your organization's appetite for innovation. Then you must provide strategies and tactics for developing, implementing, and maintaining a plan for integrating design roles, design processes and—most important—a design mindset in your organization.
This two-day class will show you how to:
- Evaluate and prioritize your organization's goals to see where design fits
- Develop a plan to change your organization
- Use change management techniques to smooth transitions
- Define roles that enable effective and efficient design
- Identify metrics for measuring success
- Bridge gaps between department silos
- Integrate Goal-Directed Design with various development processes, including Agile
- Identify and resolve common problems that occur in small, medium, and enormous companies
- Create a culture of innovation within your organization
Whether you're an executive, a manager, or a senior design practitioner, this class will help clarify your vision of a more design-driven organization. You will leave equipped with practical methods for changing your organization's culture, and ways to negotiate the obstacles along the way.
