Kia ora. In an earlier blog post, I asked if Kiwis would be interested in a January Cooper U, and despite it being in the “dead zone” of the summer holidays, the answer was an enthusiastic, “Yes!” So, we’re happy to open registration for a Kiwi Cooper U Practicum between 10-13 January.
A bit about the course
Our Interaction Design Practicum has been a popular offering since it was first launched. It’s a four-day course, and it provides an overview of interaction design techniques and principles, with plenty of exercises and breakout sessions to give students a hands-on opportunity to try some of the techniques. (The material has even been revised over this past summer, so there’s some new content for those who have already attended.)
Where will it be?
It was a close race, but between the comments and the emails we received, it looks like most attendees will be in Auckland. (Hopefully this won’t be too discouraging for Wellingtonians.) We’ll be securing a venue over the next month. Registrants will of course be notified of all details as they are determined.
How much does it cost?
How many can attend?
We are counting on at least 10 registrants by December 1. Having fewer doesn’t make it financially feasible to keep the instructor away from adoring clients. The maximum number is 20. Having more than this diminishes the amount of instructor-attendee interaction to a point that is unsatisfying for both. As of this posting, we will be accepting registrants on a first-come, first-served basis. Our advance apologies if we must turn you away, but high demand increases the chance that we can send an instructor back again at some time. (Not to mention the lure of ice cold L&P.)
How do I sign up?
Download the registration form [PDF], follow the instructions, and we’ll see you there!
