Kim Goodwin to teach encore seminar at UI13

Kim Goodwin teaches an encore of her popular full-day seminar on The Essentials of Interaction Design at User Interface 13 in Boston October 13, along with a short talk on visual design with personas and goals on October 14.

Kim Goodwin will present at the IxDA Interaction09 conference at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, B.C.. The conference runs from February 5-9, 2009.

2008

August

Alan Cooper delivered the closing keynote at the Agile 2008 conference in Toronto on August 8. Alan's slides and speaker's notes can be found in the Cooper Journal.

Dave and Chris presented at VizFarm, the July edition of the IxDA-SF monthly event, focused on information visualization in design practice. For more about this event, check out the Cooper Journal.

On June 12th, David Fore delivered a strategy keynote about the evolution of user-centered design methods to ecology-centered design as way to consider the global impact of product design. More information is available at the Business to Buttons Web site.

David Fore led a new one-day seminar, "Defining Design Requirements with Personas and Scenarios," in Malmo, Sweden.

Steve Calde of Cooper and Liz Bacon of Devise, former colleagues at Cooper, discussed using personas as a tool to develop product features and behaviors. They explored pitfalls, misconceptions, and misuse, as well as helpful persona creation and application techniques to inform interaction design solutions. More information at chifoo.org.

Lane Halley discussed Personas and Goal-Directed Design with National Restaurant Association conference attendees in Chicago.

Dave Cronin's article "Into the Groove: Lessons from the Desktop Music Revolution" was published in the May/June issue of Interactions. In it, Dave discusses what musical interaces can teach us about designing for fluency. You can find the article online at the interactions Web site.

Chris Noessel spoke at DUX 2007 on November 7th as part of the final session "Ten Minutes from Now" with Steven Johnson and Joy Mountford. He previewed content from a forthcoming book about science fiction and design in a presentation titled "Make it So!: How the Near Future Shapes the Big Picture."

Kim Goodwin taught a full-day seminar on "The Essentials of Interaction Design" at User Interface 12 conference on November 7 in Cambridge, MA.

Principal Consultant Lane Halley delivered a keynote and one-day course at the Customer Experience 2007 conference in Copenhagen, November 14-15.
